We are Faithful to Community

After Jesus’ resurrection and ascension into Heaven, His followers began to band together in small groups to worship Him.  These were the first churches, gathering within communities like Nazareth, Capernaum, and many others.  More importantly, these churches became their own little communities, as happens when kindred spirits come together – especially when accompanied by God’s Holy Spirit – to worship the Sovereign God.  These each developed their own distinctive flavors and began to have a positive impact on the surrounding, larger communities.  Their collective influence spread throughout the entire region, making more Jesus-followers and finding favor even with those who could not believe.  The Bible tells us they were a joyous people, caring for one another and even sharing personal property among themselves, wherever there was a need.  Amazingly, Churches of Christ are still this way.

All true Jesus-followers share a common bond:  they love Him and want to be like Him.  When being Christ-like is your number one goal, you tend to attract other Jesus-followers and also Jesus-seekers.  In this way, community is a natural by-product of being a Christian.  Are you looking for a community?  Come to Christ!  We have one ready-made.  Do you want to impact your local community for the better?  There’s no better way to do it than with a group of likeminded Christians

We are Faithful To God’s Son

Jesus, God’s son, manifested himself on earth as a human being, lived the life of a man, was betrayed and murdered, and rose from death to assume all authority over all of creation.  We are faithful to Him.

We are Faithful to God’s Word

The Bible, God’s Word, breathes life, beauty, and truth into our spirits and inspires us to develop as God wants us to:  into images of Him.  We are faithful to the Word.

We are Faithful to Service

The Bible tells us that “faith without works is dead.”  We take this seriously.  Service to others is one of the most notable aspects of Christianity, especially service to the poor and to the moral development of children.  We are faithful to service.

We Are Faithful To Community

Each congregation of the Churches of Christ is a community of its own located within a larger community.  There would be no purpose for a church that was not.  Love demands that we seek its better good.  We are faithful to community.
